What is the difference between TN450 and DR420?

Brother printers that use the TN450 toner cartridge also use the Brother DR420 drum unit. For Brother printers, the toner cartridge and drum unit are purchased separately. Toner cartridge usually needs to be replaced first and the drum unit typically requires replacement after the use of 3 or 4 toner cartridges, because the drum units have higher page yields (12,000 pages)

Your printer will let you know when it is time to replace each consumable with a message on the printer display. The product of this page is TN450 Toner Cartridge. If your printer prompts "drum replace", you need to order DR420 Drum Unit.
